The State Dental Board is entrusted to promote service excellence in dentistry and to protect the public through licensure, education and enforcement of standards with fairness and integrity. The Board supervises dentists, dental hygienists, and expanded function dental assistants to insure that they are complying with licensure and certification requirements and develops standards of professional conduct, including continuing education requirements, in order to maintain a high level of integrity and performance in the practice of dentistry.
The mission of the Ohio Department of Health/Bureau of Health Promotion Oral Health Program is to promote and improve the oral health of Ohioans. This resource provides information regarding access to dental health care in Ohio, School-based Dental Sealant Programs, Community Water Fluoridation, Oral Health Resources for Non-dental Health Care Professionals, Oral Health Data, School-based Fluoride Mouthrinse Programs, and OPTIONS (the Ohio Partnership to Improve Oral health through access to Needed Services).
